Funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), this NSF Scholarship Program offers financial assistance and academic and career development support to Engineering and Computer Science Undergraduate Students within the School of Engineering.

Native Americans in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (NASTEM) - formerly known as the Native American Program, School of Engineering - provides support services to Native American students majoring in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree programs at the University of New Mexico and has been in operation since 1975.
The goal of the consortium is to increase the workforce pipline of graduates ready to pursue a career in the US Department of Engergy and other STEM fields. The opportunity offers undergraduate and graduate research experiences, as well as summer opportunities to students interested in hybrid engery systems. Partners include: Sandia National Labs, National Energy Technologies Lab, Lawrence Livermore Lab, University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez, Ana G Méndez University in Puerto Rico, and the University of Texas, El Paso.
This consortium provides funding to participating NM Colleges and Univeristies through fellowships and scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students in topics related to NASA initiatives.
