Spring 2021 Update: ESS is open for limited services on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12-5 PM (Regular staff members are not on-site and are only available, remotely).
Visitors will still be expected to comply with our COVID-19 procedures as usual, i.e. wearing a mask, signing in, temperature check, and social distancing, upon entering the office. The office will continue to be locked and will still need to ring our doorbell for entry.
We are still not offering computer lab access, but printing is available when our student employee is there to assist them.
We also continue to be available remotely by scheduling virtual meetings with any of our area experts Monday through Friday from 8 am - 5 pm.
Need an outdoor space to study?
We have you covered. Read THIS document for School of Engineering locations, and THIS document for broader campus information/locations.
The following is an update on the Stamm Room and the ESS area for the start of the Fall semester:
- Stamm Room: CLOSED and being utilized for mask production and sterilization process until further notice.
- ESS Center Study Room and Computer Lab - CLOSED for student access at the moment. All TUTORING will be conducted REMOTELY this semester and a schedule will be posted in our website shortly. However, we are reviewing the possibility of opening some ESS larger areas by appointment in the future and for controlled/short periods of time due to safety precautions.
- ESS Center (in CEC 2080) will be accessible for students' brief consultations starting Monday, August 17 from 9am-12pm and 1-4pm, with limited in-person staff on hand. ALL appointments (scholarship and financial aid meetings, internship/coop information, mentoring information, engineering tours, etc.) will be conducted virtually via phone or zoom. However, for staff/faculty members, there will be someone in the office during regular business hours (8am-12pm and 1 to 5pm).
- CEC 1st floor classrooms (Auditorium, 1026, 1028, 1030, 1032) are controlled by the UNM scheduling office, and they are evaluating and deciding on their usage and accessibility.
