June 5 - 28, 2019 - UNITE Summer Program

Sponsored by the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP), the UNITE Program offers participants four exciting weeks to engage in pre-college and STEM related hands-on activities & learning experiences in all areas of engineering and computer science.  Students meet with engineering & computer science students as well as STEM faculty and industry professionals through activities and field trips.  College prep and ACT test practices are available.  See the UNITE flyer for additional information.

High school students who are in going into the 9th, 10th and 11th grades in the approaching Fall semester are eligible to participate in the UNITE Program.  Students must also be from populations that are historically underrepresented and underserved in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) careers.  Upon successful completion of the UNITE program, students can earn a stipend of $100/week for their participation.

Complete UNM UNITE application.  The deadline to apply is Friday, May 10, 2019.

June 5 - 28, 2019 - Energy Summer Academy

The Energy Summer Academy is a four week program designed to introduce students to a wide variety of energy-related topics in research today.  Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, students participate in a variety of learning experiences that include college prep courses, guest speakers, field trips and hands-on workshops.  Upon successful completion of the Energy Summer Academy program, students can earn a stipend of $100/week for their participation.  High school students who are in going into the 9th, 10th and 11th grades in the approaching Fall semester are eligible to participate in the Energy Summer Academy Program.  Students must complete the summer program application form.  The deadline to apply is Friday, May 10, 2019.

July 15-August 2, 2019 - Summer Transportation Institute

The Summer Transportation Institute Program is a three-week residential program designed to give the students the experience of living in a college dorm atmosphere.  Sponsored by the U.S. Federal Highway Administration and the New Mexico Department of Transportation, this program gives students a variety of STEM related learning opportunities as they relate to the transportation industry (see the STI flyer).  Students participate in a variety of learning experiences that include college prep courses, guest speakers, field trips and hands-on workshops.  High school students who are in going into the 9th, 10th and 11th grades in the approaching Fall semester are eligible to participate in the Summer Transportation Institute Program.  Students must complete the summer program application form.  The deadline to apply is Friday, July 5, 2019.
