UNM School of Engineering, Engineering Student Success (ESS) Center is committed to providing our students with the best opportunities to help them succeed.  Among the resources we provide, we offer our students help in finding internship and job opportunities with local and national engineering companies.  Due to the success of our program, many of our partner companies have transitioned our engineering and computer science students from interns into full-time employees.  We at ESS are committed to providing our engineering students with internship opportunities that will allow them to gain field experience and to grow professionally.  We also keep our students notified about current job opportunities. Our aim is to highlight the amazing talent that UNM has to offer.  As an added service, we collaborate with UNM Career Services in providing professional development workshops to help with building skills that pertain to career exploration, planning, and enrichment.

FALL & SPRING INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

UNM School of Engineering provides a limited number of co-op internship opportunities during the fall and spring semesters for students who meet the eligibility requirements.  The aim of the program is to provide students the opportunity to gain field experience and to supplement their learning.  Local, privately owned, participating engineering companies agree to host engineering and/or computer science students for 12 weeks or 180 internship hours.  Participating student interns receive a stipend paid by UNM and by the host company.

HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

High school students considering pursuing STEM (science, technology, math or engineering) majors in college have a unique opportunity for hands-on research under the guidance of undergraduates, graduate students and/or faculty.  UNM Engineering coordinates research experiences for high school students as part of the School's participation in National Science Foundation Engineering Research Centers (ERCs), which bring academia and industry together to conduct research and educate students.  For more information go to http://engineering.unm.edu/outreach/k-12-programs/high-school-programs.html. Please see attached documents.

IdeasTek Engineering & Technologies Inc. is looking for a student (any major) to help out wiith conference preperation.  Time frame for the student would be now through the end of July.  The conference is the 2018 Small Satelite conference in Logan, Utah, taking place on August 4th - 9th.  Not sure if student would be traveling to the conference, not requirement for the position. The main responsiblities of the position are:

 Designing the overall appearance of the booth
- Researching/purchasing giveaway marketing “swag”
- Designing and printing banners
- Designing and printing brochures
- Researching/purchasing shirts for the people attending
- May include obtaining a marketing presentation or corporate video to be displayed in a monitor at the booth
